about
the
PROJECT

The project

This project is an interactive visualization of the four Gospels from the King James Bible, focusing on the presence and interactions of characters across chapters. The aim is to provide a clear and engaging way to explore the narrative structure and the relationships between characters.

The visualization

Using a slider, users can navigate through the chapters, revealing the characters appearing in each section. Characters from previous chapters remain visible in the background, while active ones stay highlighted. This layered approach offers a dynamic view of how characters evolve through the story.

The data

The project is based on a dataset sourced from Airtable, created by Robert Rouse. The data was cleaned, processed and restructured to create a JSON file optimized for the purpose of the visualization.
